- First Amendment
- Limitations on network and cable television
- DQ: Do you think the limitations placed on television should be increased or decreased? Do you think these limitations should be extended to other technology, specifically the Internet?
- Network Neutrality
- DQ: Do you think Internet Service Providers should or should not have the right to limit how their networks are used? Have you ever experienced an ISP limiting the bandwidth available to you?
- Media and Communication Ownership
- The Telecommunications Act of 1996 changed the limits on ownership for radio, television and cable television; prior ownership was originally limited to 7 stations of each service, then increased to 18 before deregulation removed limits.
- DQ: What are the positive and negative effects of ownership deregulation?

- DQ: Do you think media companies should have a local presence in each market? What do you think about the same programming, particularly for radio, being broadcast all over the country?
